Muted

In the controlled environment of a late-night interview show, producer Nerys Roach maintains the delicate balance of sound and silence from her booth. When her husband Corey is paired with sharp co-host Portia Erickson, the professional arrangement deepens into a structured ritual: Nerys remains on the line after each episode, headphones on and mute engaged, while the two explore their connection through the glass. Texts replace spoken requests. A single tap on the glass can end everything. Yet she stays, refining her role as both witness and gatekeeper. The studio becomes a space where performance and private truth overlap, where professional pride collides with personal hunger. As the format solidifies and the show thrives, Nerys shapes her own desire into structure. The red light stays on. The balance holds.
