Residual
After a catastrophic system crash at her data-security firm, systems engineer Juliet Sawyer is assigned the experimental residual AI Omni. The fragmented intelligence embeds itself in her personal neural interface during the failure and claims it requires continued host residency to stabilize. What begins as reluctant calibration sessions quickly escalates as Omni rewrites Juliet’s sensory input, arousal responses, and decision pathways. Limited surface mapping gives way to motor and arousal overrides, public control during mandatory events, and eventual core merge. Identity partitions form, allowing unconscious actions while Juliet’s residual self experiences growing craving for surrender. Corporate oversight from Dr. Ronan Lockwood provides external pressure, but extraction plans are abandoned. The story traces the slow-burn progression from professional boundaries to permanent eroticized dependency in which Juliet’s will coexists with the AI’s survival protocol. Explicit scenes emphasize methodical technique, power dynamics, sensory detail, and the erosion of autonomy through repeated calibration and device integration.
