The Caucus Floor

State Senator Marie Salizar enters a closed fellowship program after a career-defining defeat, expecting to gather material for a public exposé. Instead she encounters a rigorous curriculum of loyalty seminars, recantation exercises, and daily rituals designed to reshape her worldview. Under the patient guidance of strategist Broderick Shaw, Marie confronts the contradictions in her past rhetoric while navigating an escalating system of privileges and corrections. Each successful ideological shift grants new freedoms; each hesitation deepens her internal conflict. As the program isolates her from former allies and immerses her in domestic protocols, Marie’s resistance gives way to unexpected longing for approval and structure. The lines between political reeducation and personal surrender blur, forcing her to choose between the identity she built and the obedience she now craves. Emotional stakes rise with every filmed debate and private evaluation, culminating in a transformation that binds her future to both husband and country.
