First Showing – The Trigger Awakens
Serena Blake stepped into the marble foyer of the hillside mansion and let the silence wrap around her. Sunlight poured through floor-to-ceiling windows, catching on polished wood and crystal fixtures. The property was empty, staged to perfection, and completely hers for the next two hours. She smoothed the front of her charcoal pencil skirt, checked that her auburn hair was still pinned neatly at the nape of her neck, and drew a steady breath. This was what she did best: stay composed, stay professional, and close the deal.
Bennett Lockwood’s voice drifted from the kitchen. “You made good time.”
She turned and found him leaning against the granite island, arms folded across his broad chest. Early forties, tall, with that easy commanding presence that made clients trust him on sight. His dark eyes lingered on her a moment longer than necessary before he offered a calm smile.
“Traffic was light,” she said, keeping her tone crisp. “I already pulled the comps and printed the feature sheets. We should be ready for the one o’clock showing.”
“Good.” He pushed away from the island and walked toward her, shoes echoing softly on the tile. “Before anyone arrives, I want to try something new. A quick centering exercise. It helps keep the energy high during long showings.”
Serena raised an eyebrow. “Centering?”
“Just a short relaxation technique I picked up years ago. Clients respond well when the agent looks completely at ease. Two minutes, nothing complicated.” He stopped a comfortable distance away, voice low and even. “Close your eyes and listen to my voice. Let your shoulders drop on the next exhale.”
She hesitated, then decided there was no harm in humoring her new broker on his first joint showing. She closed her eyes. Bennett’s tone stayed measured, each word placed carefully.
“Good. Breathe in… and out. Notice how the tension leaves your body with every breath. You’re safe here. You can let go for a moment.”
His words settled into the quiet house. Serena felt her posture soften despite herself. The knot between her shoulder blades loosened.
“Whenever you hear the phrase ‘I’ll take it,’” Bennett continued, still calm, “your body will respond with immediate, overwhelming warmth. Arousal will flood through you, and you’ll feel an instinctive need to obey. That’s all. Simple and automatic.”
She almost opened her eyes. The suggestion sounded odd, but his voice never wavered, so she stayed still.
“When the client says those words, the response will be instant. You’ll feel it between your thighs, hot and wet, and your mind will grow pleasantly foggy. You’ll want to please. That’s all you need to remember.”
Bennett let a few seconds of silence pass before he spoke again. “Open your eyes when you’re ready.”
Serena blinked back into the bright kitchen. Her pulse felt slightly quicker, but otherwise nothing seemed different. She offered a polite smile. “All right. Ready when you are.”
The first prospective buyer arrived ten minutes later: a middle-aged man in a tailored suit who moved through the rooms with brisk efficiency. Serena stayed in professional mode, answering questions about square footage and zoning while Bennett observed from a few steps behind. When they reached the spacious kitchen, the man ran a hand along the quartz countertop and nodded once.
“I’ll take it,” he said.
The words hit Serena like a spark to dry tinder. Heat bloomed low in her belly and rushed downward in a sudden, shocking rush. Her thighs clenched. Wetness gathered fast between her legs, soaking the thin fabric of her panties. A thick fog rolled through her thoughts, dulling the edges of her focus. She gripped the edge of the island to stay upright and swallowed a small, involuntary sound.
The client kept talking, oblivious. Bennett’s hand settled lightly at the small of her back, steadying her. The touch sent another pulse of need straight through her core.
“We’ll draw up the paperwork,” Bennett told the man smoothly. “Serena can handle the follow-up.”
Once the buyer left, the house felt cavernous again. Serena’s breath came shallow. The dampness between her thighs had not faded; if anything, it intensified with every small movement of her skirt.
Bennett turned to her, voice warm with approval. “That’s exactly the response I wanted to see. You did beautifully.”
She tried to speak and found her tongue slow. “What… what just happened?”
“The trigger working,” he said. “Exactly as I planted it. You felt the heat, the obedience. Your body knows what to do now.”
Serena shook her head, trying to clear the haze. “I don’t… I can’t be reacting like this at work. This isn’t professional.”
Bennett stepped closer. His fingers traced the line of her jaw, then slid down to rest at her throat, not squeezing, just holding. “It’s only between us. And only when the phrase is spoken. You’re still the sharp, capable agent everyone respects. You’re simply carrying an extra layer of responsiveness now.”
Her pulse hammered under his palm. The fog made it hard to hold onto indignation. She felt another trickle of wetness slide down her inner thigh.
“Kitchen,” Bennett said quietly. “Bend over the island.”
She hesitated, but her feet moved. The granite was cool beneath her palms. Bennett lifted her skirt with unhurried care, exposing the soaked lace of her panties. He made a low sound of satisfaction.
“Already dripping. Good girl.”
The praise sent another helpless throb through her. His hand came down in a light, measured spank across one cheek. The sting bloomed into heat that fed straight into the ache between her legs. Another spank followed, then another, each one deliberate. Serena bit her lip to keep from moaning.
Bennett’s fingers slipped between her thighs, tracing the soaked fabric without pushing inside. He circled her clit through the lace, slow and teasing, never giving enough pressure to let her tip over. Every time her hips twitched forward, he eased back, keeping her on the edge.
“You’re going to stay right here,” he murmured. “Wet and aching. You’ll remember how good it feels to obey the trigger. Next time a client says those words, the response will be even stronger.”
Serena’s thighs trembled. The fog thickened. She wanted to protest, to insist this crossed every line she had set for herself, but the words dissolved into soft, desperate breaths.
Bennett withdrew his hand and smoothed her skirt back into place. The sudden absence made her whimper. He turned her to face him, thumb brushing her lower lip.
“You’re going to be perfect at this,” he said. “My perfect open-house girl.”
Her phone buzzed on the counter. A text from Bennett, sent while she had been bent over the island. It contained only a single audio file and a short message: “Listen tonight before bed. Let it sink deeper.”
Serena stared at the screen, heart still racing, body still throbbing, and felt the first true flicker of unease beneath the fog.
