The App Download

Jennie Robledo sat at her desk in the sleek executive suite, the glow of her monitor casting sharp shadows across her sharp cheekbones. Another late afternoon stretched ahead, stacked with Brian's endless reports and calendar reshuffles. Her shoulders ached from hours hunched over spreadsheets. She rubbed the back of her neck and sighed, the tailored blouse pulling tight across her modest C-cup breasts.

"Rough day?" Brian Conito leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed over his fitted suit. His calculating eyes studied her with that familiar mix of concern and ambition. "You've been powering through like a machine, but even machines need an upgrade."

Jennie forced a polite smile. "Just trying to keep up, sir. The quarterly numbers are a mess."

"That's exactly why I wanted to mention this." He stepped closer and pulled out his phone, tapping the screen. "I've been testing an experimental hypnosis app with a few of the team. It boosts focus, cuts stress, that kind of thing. Productivity through the roof. You download it, listen to a short session at night, and it rewires the little distractions. Want the link?"

She hesitated, fingers hovering over her keyboard. Hypnosis sounded flaky, but Brian was rarely wrong about tools that worked. "I don't know. Is it safe?"

"Completely. It's all positive suggestions. Download it now and give the first track a try tonight. Trust me, Jennie. You'll thank me by Friday."

She nodded, the stress winning out. Brian sent the link. Within minutes the app sat on her phone, its icon a simple swirling spiral in deep purple. She slipped the device into her purse and returned to the reports, unaware of the subtle code already queued in the background.

Traffic home felt longer than usual. Jennie's mind kept drifting to the app even as she unlocked the front door. David was already in the kitchen, stirring pasta sauce in his button-down and khakis. His soft features brightened when he saw her.

"Hey, honey. Long day?" He kissed her cheek and handed her a glass of wine. "Dinner's almost ready. I picked up that salad you like."

They sat at the small table. Jennie tried to focus on his questions about work, but her thoughts kept slipping. The app. Brian's voice recommending it. Something about powerful focus. She pushed pasta around her plate.

"You seem a million miles away," David said after a stretch of quiet. "Everything okay at the office? You barely touched your food."

Jennie blinked and met his eyes. "Sorry. Just tired. Brian gave me this new app for stress. Probably nothing, but I might try it later."

David's brow creased with mild concern. "Hypnosis? Sounds a little out there. You sure you want to mess with that?"

"It's just suggestions for productivity. He said it helps the team. I'll be fine." She reached across and squeezed his hand. "Don't worry so much."

After dishes, she excused herself early. In the bedroom she changed into soft pajamas, then sat on the edge of the bed with her phone. The app opened with a calm female voice guiding her through setup. "Find a quiet space. Close your eyes. Let the words settle deep."

She lay back, earbuds in, and pressed play on the first session. The voice was warm, steady, wrapping around her thoughts like silk.

"You are safe. You are focused. Every breath brings clarity. When you see strong, powerful men who command a room, your mind opens wider. Productivity flows. You feel drawn to their energy, their presence. It makes you sharper, more efficient. Powerful Black men especially trigger this calm focus. Their strength helps you perform at your best. You relax deeper now. Good girl. Let the suggestion root. You crave that edge. It feels natural. It feels right."

The words continued, layering productivity mantras with those quiet, specific triggers. Jennie's body grew heavy against the mattress. A faint warmth stirred low in her belly, unexpected and gentle. She pictured broad shoulders in sharp suits, deep voices giving orders. The image made her breathing slow even more. Her thighs pressed together once, almost without thought.

The session ended with a soft chime. Jennie removed the earbuds and stared at the ceiling, heart beating a little faster. She felt oddly alert yet relaxed, as if a door had cracked open inside her. She turned off the light and slid under the covers, the suggestions already humming beneath her usual thoughts.

Down the hall David finished locking up. He paused outside the bedroom door, listening to the quiet. His wife's distraction at dinner lingered in his mind, but he told himself it was just work. He climbed into bed beside her, unaware that the first seeds had already taken hold.

Jennie lay still, eyes closed, the app's final words echoing. Powerful. Focused. Drawn. She drifted toward sleep with the faint, new heat still warming her skin.
