First Touch
Theo Lestern was wiping down his station when the bell above the door chimed. He glanced up from the black leather chair and felt the shift immediately. The man who stepped inside looked like he had wandered into the wrong building. Six foot one, lean and athletic in that quiet way desk jobs and careful gym routines produced. Salt and pepper hair trimmed with military precision. A crisp button down shirt tucked into tailored slacks. Light blue eyes that scanned the flash sheets on the walls like they might bite him.
Theo let his gaze drop to the man's left hand. There it was. A thin, pale scar circling the base of the ring finger. The kind left behind when a wedding band had been worn for years and then removed. Recently, too. The skin still carried that slightly shiny look of fresh healing. Theo's mouth curved into a slow, private smile. This one. He was going to ruin this one.
"Afternoon," Theo called, voice low and warm. He set the cloth aside and straightened to his full five ten. The black tank top clung to his broad shoulders and defined chest, displaying the intricate blackwork tattoos that sleeved both arms and climbed up his neck. His dark hair was messy in that deliberate way, and the small silver hoops in his ears caught the overhead light. "You must be Gary Sawyer. I'm Theo. You booked the three o'clock."
Gary nodded, hands clasped in front of him. His posture was perfect, almost defensive. "Yes. That's me. I hope I'm not late."
"Right on time." Theo stepped around the counter, deliberate in his movements. His ripped black jeans rode low on his hips, revealing the edge of more ink along his pelvis. He could smell the man's cologne from three feet away, something clean and expensive. "First tattoo?"
"That obvious?" Gary gave a small, self deprecating laugh. It was polite. Controlled. Exactly what Theo expected from a man like this.
Theo leaned against the counter, letting his eyes linger on Gary's face a moment longer than necessary. "You have that freshly scrubbed look. Like you ironed your shirt just to come get stabbed with needles. It's cute."
Gary's ears went pink. He shifted his weight. "I wasn't sure what the dress code was."
"There isn't one. But I like a man who makes an effort." Theo's tongue piercing clicked against his teeth as he spoke. He watched Gary register the detail, those light blue eyes flicking to Theo's mouth for half a second. Good. "So. What are we doing for you today, Mr. Sawyer?"
Gary lifted his left hand as if it belonged to someone else. "I want to cover this scar. It's from my wedding ring. The divorce was finalized two months ago. I don't want to look at it anymore."
Theo's expression softened just enough to seem sympathetic while his mind raced ahead. Divorced. Repressed. Probably told himself he was straight for twenty years. The scar was narrow but visible. Perfect canvas for something permanent. Something that would make Gary think of Theo every time he looked at it.
"I can work with that," Theo said. He reached out without asking and took Gary's hand in both of his own. The older man's skin was warm, smooth. His pulse jumped under Theo's thumb. "Nice hands. Long fingers. Skin takes ink well. We could do a band that wraps the finger and flows onto the back of the hand. Blackwork geometry. Sharp lines, deep blacks. Something that looks like it was always meant to be there instead of covering up what wasn't."
Gary didn't pull away. His breath hitched slightly as Theo traced one finger along the scar. "That sounds... permanent."
"That's the idea." Theo met his eyes and held them. "You want permanent, don't you? Something that changes how you see yourself every time you look down."
The air between them thickened. Gary swallowed. "Yes. I think I do."
Theo released his hand slowly, letting his fingertips drag along Gary's skin. "Come sit. We'll draw it up and get a stencil on you. Then you'll feel what my needles can do."
He led Gary to the heavy leather chair at his station. The shop smelled of antiseptic and ink, with low music playing through hidden speakers. Theo pulled up a stool and grabbed his sketchpad. While he worked, he kept up the conversation, voice casual but threaded with intent.
"Most guys who come in to cover a ring scar are angry. You don't seem angry. You seem nervous." Theo's pencil moved quickly, building an intricate band of interlocking lines that would sit exactly over the pale mark. "Nervous looks good on you."
"I'm not used to this," Gary admitted. His hands rested on his thighs, fingers flexing. "Any of it. The shop. The needles. Being touched by..." He stopped himself.
"By a stranger?" Theo supplied, glancing up with a knowing smirk. "Or by a man covered in ink who looks like he could bench press you?"
Gary's flush deepened. "Both, I suppose."
Theo finished the sketch and held it up. "What do you think?"
Gary leaned in. Their shoulders brushed. "It's beautiful. Strong. Not what I expected."
"Good. I don't do expected." Theo transferred the design to stencil paper, then rolled his stool closer until their knees nearly touched. "Roll up your sleeve and give me your hand again. I need to prep the skin."
Gary obeyed. The simple act of compliance sent a hot pulse through Theo's veins. He took the older man's hand once more, this time resting it palm up on his own thigh for stability. The weight of it felt right. Theo wiped the area with alcohol, slow circles that went well beyond the scar. Gary's fingers twitched.
"Ticklish?" Theo asked, voice dropping.
"Sensitive," Gary corrected. His voice had gone slightly rough.
Theo pressed the stencil onto the skin, using his palm to smooth it down firmly. He could feel Gary's heartbeat through the contact. When he peeled the paper away, the purple lines sat perfectly. Theo turned Gary's hand toward the mirror.
"See how it follows the scar? Hides it completely while making it part of something new." Theo's thumb brushed just below the design. "You're going to look at this every day and remember the day you decided to change."
Gary stared at the stencil. His breathing had changed. Shallower. "It looks like it belongs there already."
"It does." Theo set up his machine, the familiar weight of it comforting in his hand. He dipped the needle into black ink. "This is going to hurt. Fingers are sensitive. Lots of nerve endings. I want you to breathe through it. If it gets too much, tell me. But I think you can take it."
The buzz of the machine filled the space between them. Theo positioned Gary's hand on the armrest, then braced it with his free hand. Their faces were close now. Theo could see the flecks of darker blue in Gary's eyes, the way his salt and pepper hair caught the light.
"Ready?" Theo asked.
Gary nodded once.
The first touch of the needle made Gary's entire body tense. A sharp inhale. His jaw clenched. Theo kept his grip steady, guiding the machine with precise control. The needle danced over the scar tissue, laying down rich black ink that would seal the past away.
"That's it," Theo murmured. "First line is always the hardest. You're doing so well for me, Gary. Just like that. Keep breathing."
He felt the older man's pulse racing under his fingers. The scent of Gary's skin mixed with the metallic tang of ink. Theo's own body responded with a low thrum of arousal. This was more than a tattoo. This was the beginning of unwinding a man who had spent decades tied up in knots.
Minutes passed in the intimate rhythm of machine and skin. Theo wiped away excess ink with a soft cloth, his touches lingering. He talked the whole time, low and steady.
"Most people think tattoos are just decoration. They're not. They're landmarks. This one is going to remind you that you're allowed to want things. Even things you never let yourself have before."
Gary's voice came out strained. "How do you know what I want?"
Theo looked up from his work, eyes locking with Gary's. The tension crackled. "Because I see the way you're looking at me. The way your hand is trembling even though the pain isn't that bad yet. You're not just here for the ink, are you?"
Gary didn't answer. He didn't need to. His pupils had blown wide. A fine sheen of sweat had appeared at his temples. Theo returned to the tattoo, but his mind was made up. This man was going to be his. Slowly. Thoroughly. He would teach Gary what his body had been craving. He would watch the reserved, polite exterior crack open until the submissive underneath begged for him.
The session continued. Theo worked with deliberate care, stretching the design across the finger and slightly onto the hand. Every time the needle bit down, Gary made small sounds that went straight to Theo's cock. Controlled sounds. Like he was trying not to embarrass himself.
"You're clenching your jaw," Theo observed after twenty minutes. "Relax your shoulders. The pain flows better when you stop fighting it. Trust me to take you through it."
"It's... intense," Gary admitted. His free hand gripped the armrest. The front of his slacks had grown noticeably tighter. Theo noticed. He said nothing, but the sight sent satisfaction curling through him.
"Good intense or bad intense?" Theo wiped the skin again, letting his gloved fingers rest against Gary's knuckle longer than necessary.
"Both." The word came out almost whispered.
Theo smiled behind his mask of professionalism. "That's my favorite kind."
When the outline was complete, Theo shut off the machine. The sudden silence felt louder than the buzzing had. He wiped the fresh tattoo clean and wrapped it in clear bandage film, his hands moving with practiced care. But his touch stayed gentle, almost caressing.
"All done for today," he said. "We'll need three more sessions to fill it properly. The shading is where it gets really interesting. You free next Thursday?"
Gary flexed his fingers carefully, staring at the fresh ink. His face was flushed, eyes slightly glassy. "Thursday works. I can make it work."
Theo peeled off his gloves and wrote the appointment in his book with deliberate strokes. He tore off a business card and added his personal cell number on the back. "This is for aftercare questions. Or if you need anything else. Don't hesitate to use it."
Their fingers brushed when Gary took the card. The contact lingered.
"Thank you," Gary said formally. "It wasn't as bad as I expected. You have a... steady hand."
Theo stood, crowding just enough into Gary's space to make the height difference obvious. "You have no idea how steady I can be. Or how patient." His voice dropped. "This is just the first touch, Gary. There's so much more I want to show you."
Gary's breath caught. He looked away, but not before Theo caught the raw mix of confusion and arousal in his expression. Perfect.
"I'll see you Thursday," Gary managed. He headed for the door with slightly unsteady steps. The way his slacks tented at the front was unmistakable now. He was leaving the shop hard and flustered, carrying Theo's ink under his skin.
Theo watched him go, arms crossed over his chest. The bell chimed again as the door closed. Alone in the shop, Theo let out a slow breath.
"Fuck," he muttered to himself. His cock was half hard just from the session. That man was a goldmine of repressed desire. Forty two years old and clearly starving for the kind of dominance Theo excelled at. The age gap, the nervousness, the way Gary had responded to every casual touch. It was all there.
Theo locked the front door and flipped the sign to closed even though it was early. He needed a minute. Leaning against the counter, he replayed the way Gary's pulse had hammered under his fingers. The small sounds he'd made. The growing bulge he couldn't quite hide.
This wasn't just another client. Theo had felt the pull the second Gary walked in. He wanted to peel back every layer of that buttoned up exterior. He wanted to hear that polite voice break and beg. He wanted to own him, mark him, ruin him for anyone who came after.
And he would. Slowly. Over weeks of sessions. With every pass of the needle and every lingering touch, Theo would sink his hooks deeper. By the time the tattoo was finished, Gary would belong to him in ways that had nothing to do with ink.
Theo picked up his phone and saved Gary's number under a simple contact: Silver.
"You're mine now, baby," he said softly to the empty shop. "You just don't know it yet."
He smiled, already planning the next session. The next opportunity to push. The next chance to watch that reserved man discover what he truly needed.
Outside, Gary Sawyer walked to his car with a bandaged finger and a pounding heart. Inside, Theo Lestern had already begun the hunt.
The first touch had been made. The rest would follow. One deliberate, delicious step at a time.
