The First Collar

The weight of the silver cross had always been a comfort to Christina Ross. It rested against her collarbone, a tangible reminder of her faith and vows and her place in the world. She had worn it since her confirmation, through her courtship with Brian, down the aisle on their wedding day. It was a symbol of everything she was supposed to be. Pure. Devoted. Good.

Tonight, as she stood before the vanity mirror in her modest cotton nightgown, the cross felt different. Heavier. Like a chain.

"You're thinking too loud," Brian said from the bed. He was propped against the headboard, still dressed in his work slacks and a thin undershirt that clung to the broad muscles of his chest. His dark eyes found hers in the mirror's reflection. "I can see it in your shoulders, Chrissy. All that worry bunching up tight."

She turned to face him, her hands clasped nervously in front of her. "I just want to make you happy, Brian. You know that. But lately, I feel like I'm failing you. Like there's a part of you I can't reach."

He didn't deny it. That hurt more than if he had. He just patted the mattress beside him. "Come here. We need to talk."

She crossed the room on bare feet, her heart hammering against her ribs. She sat beside him, close enough to smell the faint whiskey on his breath. He reached into the nightstand drawer and pulled out a small velvet box. Her breath caught. A gift. Maybe he did love her after all.

He opened the box. Inside was a thin strip of dark brown leather, maybe an inch wide. A small silver buckle gleamed at one end. And attached to the leather by a tiny ring was her cross pendant, removed from its usual chain.

"I had this made special," he said, his voice low and steady. "For you. For us."

She stared at the collar. That's what it was. A collar. The cross now dangled from it like a dog tag. Her throat tightened.

"I don't understand," she whispered.

"You will." He lifted the collar from the box. "Turn around."

Her body obeyed before her mind could catch up. She felt the cool leather press against the front of her throat, then his hands working the buckle at the nape of her neck. The fit was snug but not uncomfortable. The cross now rested just above her collarbone, a different weight entirely.

"There," he said. "That looks right. That looks like my wife."

She touched the leather. Her fingers trembled. "Brian, what is this?"

"This is the new us." He took her hand, squeezed it. "I love you, Chrissy. I do. But I need more. I need to see you in this. I need you to wear it tomorrow. To church."

The word hit her like a physical blow. "Church?"

"Yes." His eyes were dark, intense, hungry. "You'll wear it under your blouse. No one will see it. But you'll know it's there. And when the organ plays, when Candice plays, I want you to listen. I want you to hear the music and know what I'm doing to her."

Her stomach dropped. "Candice?"

"The organist." He smiled, and it was not a kind smile. "She's already agreed. She wants this too. Tomorrow, during the second hymn, I'm going to fuck her in the choir loft. And you're going to sit right below and listen."

The tears came before she could stop them. Hot, shameful, spilling down her cheeks. "Please, Brian. I'll do anything. I'll be anything. Just don't make me watch you with another woman."

He wiped a tear from her cheek with his thumb. "But that's exactly what I'm making you do. And you'll do it because you love me. Because you want to please me. Don't you?"

She nodded, unable to speak.

"Good girl." He kissed her forehead. "Now come to bed. Tomorrow is a big day."

She lay beside him, the leather collar a constant pressure against her throat. She didn't sleep. She spent the night praying for strength, for some sign that this was wrong. But the only answer she got was the steady rhythm of Brian's breathing beside her.

Sunday morning arrived cold and gray. Christina dressed with mechanical precision, her fingers numb as she buttoned her high-necked white blouse. The collar sat beneath it, hidden, a secret weight that made every breath feel deliberate.

Brian watched her from the doorway, his approval a warm hand on her back as he guided her to the car. They drove to Grace Community Church in silence. The parking lot was full. Families filed inside. Children laughed. Elderly couples held hands.

Christina wanted to scream.

She took her seat in the third pew from the front, her usual spot. Brian sat beside her, his hand resting on her thigh, squeezing gently. The organ began to play, and she looked up at the pipes. Candice was up there, invisible behind the carved wood panels.

The first hymn passed in a blur. She sang, but the words felt hollow. Her throat was raw with unshed tears. Brian's hand stayed on her leg, warm and possessive.

Then came the second hymn. "Amazing Grace."

The organ swelled. The congregation rose to their feet. Brian leaned close to her ear.

"This is it," he whispered. "Don't turn around. Don't look. Just listen."

His footsteps retreated up the side stairs. The creak of the loft door followed. Then nothing but the music for a long, agonizing moment.

Then it came. A low groan, barely audible, lost in the swell of the organ. But she knew it was him. She knew what he was doing.

The music continued. The congregation sang. "Was blind, but now I see."

A rustle of fabric from above. A soft, breathy moan that was not quite hidden by the notes. She imagined Candice bent over the organ bench, her full skirt hiked up around her waist, her heavy breasts swaying beneath her blouse. Brian behind her, his hands gripping those wide hips. Brian pushing into her.

Christina's hands trembled on the hymnbook. Her knees pressed together. Between her legs, a treacherous heat was building, a shameful wetness that made her want to crawl out of her skin.

The music grew louder. The organist's fingers never faltered. Candice was playing, playing, playing, even as she was being fucked. The thought made Christina dizzy.

A rhythm emerged from above. A wet, rhythmic sound that matched the tempo of the hymn. He was timing himself to the music. Every thrust was a note.

She closed her eyes. The world narrowed to sound. The organ. The singing. The wet slap of flesh on flesh, muffled and distant but unmistakable.

"My God," she whispered.

"He's not here right now," Brian had told her last night. "It's just me. It's just her. And you."

The music shifted, the hymn building toward its climax. The sounds from above grew more urgent. She could make out Candice's breathing now, ragged and uneven beneath the organ notes. The woman was struggling to keep playing, her fingers stumbling over the keys as Brian drove into her from behind. Each thrust pushed Candice forward on the bench, and Christina could hear the slight scrape of wood on the floor, rhythmic as a heartbeat.

Christina pictured it clearly now. Candice's knuckles white on the organ keys. Her back arched. Brian's hand wrapped in her dark hair, pulling her head back. The wet sound growing louder, more insistent. His low groans mixing with her stifled whimpers. The congregation singing below, oblivious, their voices rising in praise while above them, in that hidden loft, her husband was buried deep inside another woman.

The heat between Christina's thighs was unbearable now. She squeezed her legs tighter, trying to stop it, trying to deny what her body was telling her. But the wetness only grew, soaking through her cotton panties, making her shift uncomfortably on the hard wooden pew. She was aroused. God help her, she was aroused listening to her husband fuck another woman.

The tempo of the music increased. Candice was playing faster now, her fingers flying across the keys as Brian's pace quickened. Christina could hear the wet slap of skin against skin, could hear Candice's soft cries punctuating each thrust. The woman was close. Brian was close.

Then she felt it. A single drop of liquid land on her cheek. Warm. Thicker than water. She touched it with her finger and brought it to her nose. It smelled like him. Like sex. Like betrayal.

She looked up. Through the gap in the wooden panels, she saw him. Brian, his pants around his thighs, his shirt untucked. Candice on her knees before him, her mouth full of him, her eyes closed in bliss. His hand was in her hair, and he was thrusting into her mouth with slow, deliberate strokes. Candice's lips were swollen and red, stretched wide around his thickness, and her cheeks hollowed as she sucked him. A thin strand of saliva connected her chin to his shaft.

The cum drop on Christina's cheek was still wet. He had aimed for her. He had finished on her face from above.

The hymn ended. The congregation sat down. Brian descended the stairs, looking composed, adjusting his tie. He sat beside her and took her hand.

"Good girl," he whispered.

She didn't say anything. She couldn't. The collar was tight around her throat, and the cross was cold against her skin, and she knew with a terrible certainty that this was only the beginning.
