The First Demand
Niamh Foley shifted in the stiff leather chair across from Coach Proctor's massive oak desk, her fingers twisting the strap of her purse until her knuckles ached. The office smelled of polished wood and old sweat, the kind that clung to every surface in the athletic building. She had been waiting for twenty minutes already, the clock on the wall ticking louder with each passing second. Why had he called her here alone? Quentin was supposed to be at practice, and she had only come because the message said it was urgent about his scholarship paperwork.
Her stomach twisted. She crossed her legs, then uncrossed them, the short hem of her sundress riding up her smooth olive thighs. The late afternoon sun slanted through the blinds, striping the room in shadow. She checked her phone again. No texts from Quentin. Just the same blank screen that had stared back at her since she walked in.
The door clicked open behind her. Heavy footsteps crossed the carpet, and the air seemed to thicken as Coach Scott Proctor moved into view. He was every inch the domineering presence she had always found intimidating, broad shoulders filling out his team polo, salt-and-pepper hair neatly trimmed, piercing gray eyes already locked on her like she was a problem he intended to solve.
"Niamh," he said, voice deep and measured. "Glad you could make it. Close the door behind you, would you?"
She hadn't realized it was still ajar. She stood quickly, smoothed her dress, and pushed it shut. The lock turned with a soft snick that made her pulse jump.
"Sit," he ordered, already settling behind the desk. He didn't smile. "We need to talk about a few things that could affect Quentin's future here."
Her throat tightened. "Is everything okay with his scholarship? He told me the grades were fine."
Proctor leaned back, studying her. "Grades are the least of it." He turned the laptop on his desk so the screen faced her. "Take a look at this."
The video started without sound at first. Grainy footage from what looked like a hidden camera in a dorm room. Niamh's own face appeared, flushed and laughing, then the angle shifted. She was on her knees in front of a senior player from last year's roster, her mouth open, his hand in her hair. The clip was short, maybe thirty seconds, but it was enough. Her stomach dropped like she had missed a step on stairs.
"That's not... that video doesn't exist," she whispered, the words automatic even as heat flooded her cheeks. "How did you get that?"
"Doesn't matter how," Proctor said calmly. "What matters is what happens if it gets out. Quentin's the golden boy. Star quarterback. If people find out his girlfriend was sucking off his teammates behind his back, the distraction alone could tank this season. Scholarships get pulled for less. Scandals like this tend to stick."
Niamh's hands trembled. She had done it once, stupid and drunk after a party, thinking no one would ever know. It had been a mistake she buried immediately. Now it was here, playing on repeat in the coach's office.
"Please," she said, voice cracking. "Delete it. I won't... I'll do anything else. Don't ruin him over this."
Proctor's mouth curved, not quite a smile. "Anything else. That's an interesting offer." He stood, the chair rolling back quietly. "Stand up."
She obeyed before she could think better of it, legs unsteady. He came around the desk, stopping close enough that she could smell his cologne mixed with the faint scent of the field.
"On your knees," he said, tone leaving no room for argument. "Right now."
Her breath caught. "Coach, I can't. Quentin..."
"Quentin keeps his scholarship and the team keeps its focus if you do what you're told." His hand rested on her shoulder, firm, guiding downward. "This is the first demand. There will be more. Refuse and the video goes to the dean, the boosters, the press. Your choice."
Shame burned hot behind her eyes. She sank slowly, the carpet rough against her bare knees. The position felt humiliating, exposed. She kept her gaze down, staring at the polished tips of his shoes.
"Good girl," he murmured. The praise landed wrong, twisting something low in her belly that she refused to name. "Unzip me."
Her fingers shook as she reached up. The sound of the zipper seemed deafening. He was already hard, thick and heavy when she freed him. The reality of what she was doing hit her in a wave. This was blackmail. This was wrong. Yet the threat to Quentin kept her hands moving.
"Open your mouth," Proctor instructed. "Take it slow. I want to feel how serious you are about protecting him."
She parted her lips, tongue brushing the head first. The taste was salt and skin, foreign and immediate. She took him deeper, inch by inch, fighting the urge to gag as he filled her mouth. His hand settled on the back of her head, not forcing yet, just resting there like a reminder.
"That's it," he said, voice lower now. "Use your tongue. Show me you're worth keeping around."
Niamh's eyes watered. She bobbed her head, the wet sounds of her mouth obscene in the quiet office. Her mind raced with images of Quentin finding out, of everything they had built collapsing because of one stupid night. She worked harder, sucking with more focus, hoping compliance would end this faster.
From the corner of her eye, movement in the shadows near the storage closet caught her attention. A tall figure stood half-hidden, arms crossed. Errol Casey, the linebacker, watching with dark, intense eyes. He didn't speak, didn't move closer, just observed. The knowledge that someone else was seeing this sent fresh humiliation crashing through her.
Proctor's grip tightened on her hair. "Eyes on me," he ordered. "Don't worry about him. He's just learning how things work now."
She obeyed, hazel eyes lifting to meet his gray ones. The coach's expression was calm, almost clinical, but there was clear enjoyment in the way he guided her pace. Her jaw ached. Saliva dripped down her chin onto the front of her dress. Still she continued, the threat of exposure pressing harder than any physical force.
When he finally pulled back, she gasped for air, lips swollen and wet. He stroked himself once, twice, and finished across her tongue and lower lip with a low grunt. She swallowed without being told, the bitter taste lingering.
"Clean yourself up," he said, tucking himself away. "And remember this is only the beginning. The team has needs after wins. You'll handle them quietly. One word to Quentin and everything falls apart."
Niamh stayed on her knees a moment longer, breathing hard, the weight of Errol's stare still burning into her from the shadows. She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, shame and something darker twisting together inside her chest. The coach's threat hung in the air like smoke, impossible to escape.
She stood on shaky legs, straightened her dress, and left the office without looking back. The hallway felt colder than before. Outside, the sun was setting over the practice fields, and somewhere Quentin was probably finishing drills, oblivious. She pressed a hand to her stomach, willing the nausea down. This was just the first demand. She already knew there would be more.
